iUniverse author James D. Rasmussen talks about his new thriller, Redemption of a City, along with his upcoming sequel!
Please briefly describe your book . . .
Redemption of a City is a fictional story of government conspiracy and deception that affects the future of mankind for the next 44 years. The story is fast-paced with many twists. Stephanie, the main character, makes quite a remarkable discovery.
And can you tell us a little about yourself?
I am 52 years old. I have worked in Mechanical Design for the last 28 years. I started writing as a hobby back in 2012. My mother was very influential in persuading me to get my story published.
Do you have any particular literary influences that have helped you develop in your genre, subject, and style? What inspired you to write your book?
I have always liked: Dan Brown, Dean Koontz, Michael Crichton, and Tom Clancy. I would compare my writing style and controversial subjects with Dan Brown.
What is the one message you would like to convey to your readers?
The future can be influenced dramatically, even by just one person.
Are you working on a sequel to your book?
Yes, the sequel is complete (The Search for Them). This will become available in the Fall of 2017.
Are there any events, marketing ideas or promotions planned for your book?
I have just come to the marketing stage on ‘Redemption of a City’.
What was your favorite part of your publishing experience, overall and with iUniverse?
Getting my story out to the public. I thank iUniverse for helping me with this process.
What advice would you give to aspiring authors?
Why not publish? Write what inspires you. If you love your story – there will be an audience out there that will also love it.
