It has been quite a year for iUniverse, with thousands of new authors choosing us as their publishing service and hundreds more coming back to publish second and third books. Below, we let you hear from our authors as to why they are choosing iUniverse as their preferred self-publishing firm.
But first, we’d like to showcase some extraordinary milestones achieved by our authors this year. To begin, Joe S. Bullock’s Walking with Herb will be made into an inspirational independent film! The movie will star Edward James Almos, and is about the title character’s spiritual growth to overcome bereavement, set against the background of golf — a favorite pastime of the author.
Kristen Lee, author of RESET: Make the Most of Your Stress, was featured on NPR in August. Please find the full broadcast by clicking here. Dr. Lee is a behavioral science professor at Northeastern University, and her book won for Best Motivational Book at the Next Generation Indie Book Awards 2015.
In addition to the cinema and radio, in 2018 iU also saw one of its authors featured on TV — and on The Today Show, no less! Author Nancy Gianni launched her #GenerationG – A True Story of Miracles, Hope & Unconditional Acceptance on the show and in accordance with World Down Syndrome Day. Gianni stated, ““I think self-publishing is an outstanding option for any founder of a nonprofit,” adding, “I was able to control my story, message and timeline, and speak directly to my readers.”
And, as promised, here are some great things that iUniverse authors are saying about us and their publishing experience:
Gino Bumeliani, The Babbling Brook
My favorite part of the publishing experience with iUniverse was dealing with my consultant. He was always there to answer any questions or concerns I had.
Rosemary Daniels, From Me Too to Me Two
I thoroughly enjoyed iUniverse for making my publishing experience rewarding and exciting. The employees are tremendous. Your courtesy, your helpfulness, and professionalism are excellent.
Robert Swanson, Poems from the Road
This is my first book so I didn’t know what to expect but iUniverse has done a very good job taking my vision and turning it into reality.
Anthony Nwachukwu, The 50 Steps to Happy Marriage
iUniverse is comparable to none, my experience with her, superb! She is the best publishing company I have known, after a detailed study of other publishers.
Sally McGuire, The Missing Letters
I had published four books with iUniverse. I must say that my experience was great. I love how they had me involved in every publishing process. The staff is friendly and courteous. I will recommend this publishing company to anyone who wants to publish a book.
Antwyn Price, Colonies in Ruins
I like the talented illustrators that the company has available.
Sean Phelan, Saltwater Redemption
All of the iUniverse team members were extremely kind and thorough throughout the process, keeping me apprised of the developments from submission to revision to publication, and offering helpful feedback along the way.
I greatly enjoyed working with my consultant in the initial stages of figuring out what exactly I was going to do. Her support and willingness to persevere through my insecurities and uncertainties were key to my deciding to publish with iUniverse.
A.C. Bell, The Last Button on Ole Abraham’s Jacket
My favorite part of my publishing experience was the encouragement I felt after receiving Editor’s Choice. My overall experience with iUniverse’s publishing process was both enlightening and educational. The editorial review was very beneficial in helping me convey my story affectively while maintaining the heart and soul of my characters.
iUniverse remains a leader in customer service excellence, setting the bar for what customers should expect. As most writers know, turning over a manuscript to a publisher is a bit daunting as we have taken such care for so long of our words, our plot, our art. To trust that manuscript to a company three times over speaks volumes for the trust and satisfaction I find in iUniverse. They care. They help, and if something doesn’t go as planned, they are on it immediately to rectify whatever issues or questions emerge during the process of publication. I have zero complaints and have referred several authors to iUniverse. The graphic design team is amazing and blows me away each time with their lovely cover art and interior design. The copyediting team is superb! The day the “printer copy” arrives, and you hold that book in your hands as a finished product for the first time is the most satisfying day of your writing life, when you say out loud, “I am SO glad I chose iUniverse!”
Renäe M. Gilley, Twenty-Eight Days
When I started the journey with iUniverse, I had no idea what to expect or what was ahead of me. Almost everyone that I dealt with was kind, thoughtful and helpful to me. My first contact became my lifeline. When I was lost, he guided me. When I was upset, he calmed me down. When I was ready to quit, he pushed me on. When someone upset me and I cried, he found a different person to match my personality to work with me. I NEVER want to publish another book without him in my corner.
